I have a 7th generation iPod touch, running iOS 13.5.1 and Safari 13.1.1. Safari does not allow websites to use the device's microphone on iPods. The browser's getUserMedia API throws an OverconstrainedError when attempting to retrieve audio devices.
Please allow Safari to use the iPod's microphone. Other native apps are able to use the microphone. Web apps should not be restricted in this way.
I have created a test app that demonstrates the issue: https://brianpeiris.github.io/mic-test/

Not sure when this was fixed, but I can report that Safari 15.6.6 on iOS 15.7.9 now allows microphone access on my 7th Gen iPod! It is also allowed in Chrome and Firefox!
