Hey, I think I found a bug in Safari's CSS engine.
Having a gradient background-image using
currentColor or var()
and setting
transition: all 1s; or
transition: background-image 1s;
results in constant repaint

I only see repaints in the inspector timeline during the length of the transition. Marking this as fixed.
