I attempted to login to Yahoo mail using several Webkit based browsers. On all except Safari, I got the message "Sorry, the all-new Yahoo! Mail does not support your browser."
Apparently they are Sniffing for "Safari", instead of sniffing for "Webkit"

Confirmed: changing the browser name in Safari 3.1 UA string makes Yahoo mail complain about unsupported browser.

As I tested today I cannot see any warning message about unsupported browser on All-new Yahoo! Mail using WebKit r35203. Any confirmations?

I tested it today in iCab and got the unsupported browser warning. When I changed the UA to identify as Safari, it worked correctly. What browser did you test it in? The "Webkit" nightly builds actually use your installed Safari .

You are absolutely right. Of course I tested the Yahoo Mail in WebKit running under Safari on Mac and it uses Safari user agent string. Sorry for false alarm :(
