Luis, can you figure out which image resource is being used on your system, and provide a direct URL (or attach the image). And have you seen this with any other images? What hardware are you on? There are more images where the problem is showing up. All of then are b/w images. I realize this time on a image someone posted on reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/europe/comments/7sm7qz/1_way_to_divide_austria/ The funny thing is... somethings the image is view correctly the first time, but then suddenly, after a fraction or a second, or if I reload the image, the image get black. You can see it here: http://g.recordit.co/Gyucnj4bNb.gif In the wikipedia page happened to me before that first I see the image correctly, then I scroll down and up, and the image turns black. If I download the image and I open in preview the image shows up perfectly fine. It's a Safari exclusive problem. > Luis, can you figure out which image resource is being used on your system, > and provide a direct URL (or attach the image). Can you tell me how I can figure out this about the image resource? (In reply to Simon Fraser (smfr) from comment #3) > And have you seen this with any other images? What hardware are you on? I'm on a MacBook Pro (15-inch, Late 2011) 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB. Running macOS High Sierra 10.13.3 (17D47). But... the first time I reported this bug (I think like 6 months ago or so, I have to check) I was in El Capitan 10.11.6. So... again, I really think it's really related to Safari in some machines. Another sample of the behavior I was telling you http://g.recordit.co/47oKarJ45d.gif It loads, it shows for a fraction of a second, it turns black... Really weird. Other interesting thing is if I change the profile color the image show, but only in certain profiles. Also, the thumbnails show correctly https://imgur.com/a/EPV2p By the way... I'm not alone https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8141246 https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8108548 https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/130255/safari-has-a-problem-displaying-certain-images https://stackoverflow.com/questions/25461052/black-boxes-instead-of-images-in-safari There are many more if you search on google for black images on safari. since I just shared with you one link relate to javascript I wanted to try and disable java script on safari This is the result https://imgur.com/a/NJaFO Interestingly, in some places I can see the image/s with no problem. You asked for more images, in the same wikipedia article there are couple of images that follow the same behavior. I think you have a lot of material now... If you want me to collect something or you can tell me how I can "figure out which image resource is being used on my system". I'll be happy to provide. Perhaps I can take some info with this? https://imgur.com/a/K4hV3 What color profile is selected in the Display preferences panel? I think you can see them of the attached images (on the link). Sorry I’m not on the computer right now I don't see it in any of the screenshots, sorry. If not set to the default (the top one), try changing it to see if the problem goes away. (In reply to Simon Fraser (smfr) from comment #13) > I don't see it in any of the screenshots, sorry. If not set to the default > (the top one), try changing it to see if the problem goes away. Here you can see it: https://imgur.com/a/EPV2p I have the default profile Color LCD, but I also have f.lux installed so at night it changes to f.lux profile... but If think f.lux is related to this bug, I think it's not. When I had the problem the first time and I realized about the problem with the profiles, I uninstalled f.lux and tried. The problem persisted. The problem get solved if I set for example "Generic RGB Profile" as you can see here: https://imgur.com/gk1VMTJ but then other things in the system turn black, like your mail in mail.app, as you can see here: https://imgur.com/9yB3iHu Do you have a second display attached (the Dell?) (In reply to Simon Fraser (smfr) from comment #15) > Do you have a second display attached (the Dell?) No I don’t have it attached. |
Created attachment 332238 [details] Same page in Safari and in Paparazzi app. Hi! As you can see in the image some images render black in Safari 11.0.3, but they render normally in other apps and browsers, as you can see in the attached image. The bug isn't new, I believe that in the first version of Safari 11 the bug was present and got fixed in 11.0.1. Now, it has appeared again with this new release.
