When I go to my page at http://cap-lore.com/index.html and type into the text box there, the characters appear as I type but badly damaged.
The first character is OK.
If WebKit looses focus or the field is deselected, they are immediately repaired.

Safari 3.1 (in Rosetta) does not fail thus.
