In the most recent WebKit build [r30966], as well as a number of the more recent ones from some weeks ago, crashes are frequently observed when using multiple tabs (crashes have been observed with just two tabs open, though it is not always reproducible in this case). On my computer, the easiest way to trigger it is to boot up WebKit, let it load the Apple Start page (the default home page), then middle-click on the News bookmark group in the toolbar, causing all the News sites to open. Soon afterwards, on my computer and with r30966 WebKit, a crash occurs. The timing is a bit variable, probably subject to networking delays, but usually happens before any of the tabs have fully loaded. I will attach crash logs and dumps for two most recent crashes.

I'll confirm this to the extent that I am currently stuck with r34388. I usually open a window with 9 tabs leading to a crash with signature: "AppName: safari.exe AppVer: 3.525.21.0 ModName: webkit.dll ModVer: 4.526.0.0 Offset: 000a25d0" (this is from r34797) This happened also when opening tabs serially, second or third tab in a window. I've attached the crash log.

For some reason, with r35130 this seems to be ok.

I've had similar problems when running way newer versions of webkit around rs-36xxx - 37xxx. I used Safari 4 developer preview 2 on Windows XP and have had multiple tabs up and running when it unexpectly crashes without a warning or a error message. It might be an issue where one of two of the pages make the Safari crash and not necessarily just because there are a lot of tabs open, which the replication of the bug seem to indicate.

Something like this resurfaced in r38293, as: 1. I start Webkit 2. I open my first set of tabs 3. Webkit stays unresponsive and crashes (due to another pending issue, I have my plugins disabled, so it's purely internal)
