Up until today's nightly build (r30377.dmg), Webkit has run smoothly. This version, though, went into the spinning mode with every page load, to the point where browsing would take a minute or so per page. It did that with regular pages as well as attempting to read an in-frame PDF.
I've actually gone back & reinstalled the previous build, which works fine.
FYI, I have OSX 10.5.1.

When it hangs, can you open Activity Monitor, highlight WebKit and select the "Sample Process" toolbar button and upload the sample it produces as an attachment to this bug?
