If an embedded Real Player stream buffers in an inactive tab, it will not proceed to play. This is demonstrable with initial buffering, or mid-playback rebuffering. Upon return to the tab, playback will begin. Also demonstrated in Dashboard on 10.5 (if Dashboard is hidden, buffering will not proceed to playback).
