autogen.sh should just create the configure script and not run configure in the sourcedir. This way it is more easy to build with src_dir != build_dir.
Anyone saying rs=me on the removal of the configure line from autogen.sh?

Hoger, Jan originally had it the way you suggest for the same reasons.
I asked him to change it to match conventions in other projects, but maybe this was a mistake. If there is precedent in other projects for not calling configure in autogen.sh, then rs=me
