Bug 16647 – Web inspector shows incorrect Network timings for pdf loaded with Adobe Reader plug-in

Make sure Acrobat is installed, and configured to display pdfs in the browser.  Go to bug URL (get annoyed that it takes so long to load, and that Safari is hung while it loads).  When it has finally loaded, select "Show Web Inspector" from the Debug menu.

Expected results:

Inspector should tell me something about the size of the pdf, and tell me something about the time it took to download.

Actual results:

There's not much useful information, and the Network part of the inspector has lots of NaNs across the top, measuring the time in days.

Tested with r28997 on 10.4.11 with Safari 3.0.4 (523.12.2)

I can't reproduce on ToT on Windows XP.

Reproduces with latest nightly (r31030) on 10.5.2, on PowerPC (G5).  Screenshot of Inspector's Network Pane forthcoming.

I should note, it took a long time for the pdf to load, and Safari was essentially hung while it loaded.  Also note, the pdf is being viewed by the Acrobat plugin, and detailed in the original description (not sure if that makes it invalid).

The inspector (testing with r36247) has different behavior now, in  that it gives a timing for the pdf, though I think the timing is incorrect.  Also, when looking at the sizes of the resources, it thinks the pdf is of negligible size - I will open a new bug for that.

Confirmed, but only if Pdf is loaded with Adobe Reader plug-in.
