It would be nice if things that require a user gesture gave warnings when called from the console or, even better, allowed me to override that gesture.
e.g. requesting full screen

I agree! We should give a warning / error by default. The console could have am ode that if enabled always acts as if it was from a user gesture (similar to how we allow testing hover in the Style sidebar). That way developers can test both ways.
