Open the test at http://www.hixie.ch/tests/adhoc/perf/dom/artificial/003.html in safari and firefox -- in safari the movement is only horizontal and does not have the vertical component it has in firefox -- compare to http://www.hixie.ch/tests/adhoc/perf/dom/artificial/001.html
