Created attachment 262695 [details] 40.000 rectangles SVG Loading a file just 1/4 that size (10.000 rectangles) takes about a second. Also, loading the 40.000 rectangles in Chrome takes 2-3 seconds. This affects Webkit, Safari and any application using the Webview component.

This is not blocking Safari anymore but still much slower on pan&zoom than Chrome.
