Unprefixed transition doesn't support inheritance even though its value is 'inherit' unlike prefixed transition.

Yes, it works.

My test CSS:

#parent {
    text-indent: 0px;
    transition-property: text-indent;
    transition-duration: 3s; 
}
 
#child {
    transition: inherit;
}
 
#child:hover {
    text-indent: 100px;
}

Text in #child is moving.
