From a fresh Safari session, reloading my Facebook home page increases RAM usage by 2m per reload. Ram increases by roughly 200k/minute with the page sitting open and idle.

Do you have any facebook application doohickies on your facebook homepage?
Cameo Wood
No- the homepage has no applets- it's just the ad on the left and the friend updates.
Oliver Hunt
We do leak substantial amounts -- far more than could really be considered acceptable.
But i don't seem to be seeing the same continual increase in idle memory usage... do you see lots of updates on your homepage? (eg. do you have more friends than me :D )
Cameo Wood
Ah- I do not see any live updates- There is more information on the page- but I believe it is actually pretty static. The one Facebook page goes from 31 megs when it first starts, and then increases by 2 megs per reload. The unactive page increases slowly in ram usage until it utilises about 125 megs, and then evens out.

The memory usage seems to be normalised - in some cases, the memory usage actually goes down. yay!
