Bug 132347

Summary: most stackexchange sites don't load at most times
Product: WebKit Reporter: Jan Path <jan.path>
Component: Page LoadingAssignee: Nobody <webkit-unassigned>
Status: NEW ---
Severity: Normal
Priority: P2
Version: 528+ (Nightly build)
Hardware: PC
OS: Linux

Description Jan Path 2014-04-29 12:01:45 PDT
Distribution: ArchLinux
Architecture: x86_64
Graphics: Intel HD 4000

Most of the times, stackexchange websites are not loading with webkit. I tried it with bunch of different gtk browser, including uzbl, dwb, luakit and epiphany and the qt browser konqueror. With the gtk browser it loads to about 30% and then stops making progress. The title is already loaded, but apart from that you just see a white page. Konqueror at least shows a barebones html file after some time, but without css. I already tried it with a clean profile, cache removed and with java script disabled, but nothing helped. Sometimes the page loads after about a half hour or so and sometimes everything just works right away.
I also tried it with different window managers, because I got some gtk errors with my i3, but those disappeared with Cinnamon.
Furthermore I tried with uxa acceleration mode for intel-dri instead of snd acceleration mode, but that didn't helped either.

Chromium is not affected, but that also doesn't link against the library shipped by ArchLinux. The ArchLinux package is almost completely vanilla. It just applies one patch, that just removes two non-ASCII quotes in a comment.

The meta.stackexchange.com sites work just fine.

Attached is the output of "uzbl-core -v stackexchange.com"
