Being able to open the web inspector on a snippet would be useful for times when you are doing a quick investigation and don't want to create a one line file just to get the web inspector. Steps: 1) open the snippet editor 2) enter an HTML snippet 3) try to inspect the rendered snippet

I agree. However, this would be a Safari change and not part of WebKit.
