Sigh, bugzilla ate the text. Here is the text without the diacritics:

If I take the character "a" and paste it into a NativeTextArea on ToT WebKit and WebContinuousSpellCheckingEnabled is on in that text field, WebKit freezes for a very long amount of time, then shows an alert about not being able to contact the spell checker. Then the AppleSpell daemon dies in all Applications until I force kill it.

A workaround is to disable spell checking while you type, or not paste huge diacritic lists.

This does not happen in the released WebKit.

A regression would be P1, but I cannot reproduce. Is WebContinuousSpellCheckingEnabled the same as Edit->Spelling->Check Spelling as You Type?

We only have three references to 'WebContinuousSpellCheckingEnabled' in GitHub code:

Is it something in WebKit or Safari layer or it is WebKit Legacy?

If we have issue with performance in 'WebContinuousSpellCheckingEnabled', we might have other bugs from later with reproducible test case, do we need to track this?

That's about a setting that one can enable in context menu.

I'm not sure what NativeTextArea ism but this certainly doesn't reproduce in textareas like this one 17 years later.
