Confirmed with a locally-built debug build of WebKit r19188 with Safari 2.0.4 (419.3) on Mac OS X 10.4.8 (8L127).
Interestingly, shipping Safari alone behaves the same way, so this is not a regression. This works as expected on Firefox 2.0.0.1 and Opera 9.10.

I'm no longer able to reproduce this in Safari 5.0.2 (or WebKit nightlies). I can only assume that MSN redesign(s) in the past 3.5 years no longer trigger this bug, or it was fixed in the meantime.
