Well, it is possible to enter text into those text areas, but it doesn't work as it should.
Clicking in the middle of the text area/field selects the area/field, but won't give you a caret. Hitting cmd+a after that selects the whole page.
You can tab to the text fields/area just fine. It also works to select a text field by clicking carefully at the very bottom of the text field.
