It seems that when you have a same CSS Transition (-webkit-transition) rule on text-shadow in both a parent and child, the transition time gets added and the text-shadow opacity gets a "stronger" effect too.
E.g: If two elements have a transition time of 1s, and one is child of the other, it's transition time will be 2s.
