Bug 106288

Summary: Part of the webpage disappears because of flash videos

Description nixdisko 2013-01-07 18:52:50 PST
So far, the problem happens only on pages containing certain flash videos.

Example:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0DPdy98e4c

After clicking on the play button, the video runs just fine. However after clicking on the fullscreen button, the video frame will become unusable (becomes black in case of youtube), it will not go into fullscreen and the video seemed to be stopped because there is no sound playing anymore. It's possible to close the tab, webkit doesn't crash, it doesn't create any error and it's possible to scroll and to click on any clickable item (hyperlink, picture) even if it's not visible anymore due to this problem. Yes, certain elements might turn invisible if the page contains that kind of flash video. In that case, it doesn't matter if fullscreen or not. These disappearing elements could be text (e.g: youtube's comment section) or pictures (e.g: youtube's right panel of recommended videos). These are still clickable and the next page will load correctly (except of course if the next page contains the same problematic flash video).

Here is a list of other sites containing videos that will make webkit to react in an unusual way:
http://www.koreus.com/video/ingenieur-son.html --> No disappearing elements except video frame that becomes white after clicking the fullscreen button.
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xwilyn_light-night-krew_creation#.UOt-Uc9Igkd --> A lot of disappearing elements and the video won't even load, frame stays white/transparent.
http://www.break.com/index/the-awesome-futuristic-highways-in-netherlands-2402682 --> No disappearing elements except video frame that becomes transparent shortly after clicking the fullscreen button.

I found it difficult to find videos that won't bring webkit to glitch out after clicking the fullscreen button:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5beKYRBtMnE --> all OK

BTW: the flash player has been updated to the latest possible version.

Best regards

This should be fixed in the next nightly.
