    <thetext>In situations where we know that rendering is fully opaque and covers the entire framebuffer we could use the EXT_discard_framebuffer extension (where available) instead of glClear(). This allows some GPUs to avoid copying the previous framebuffer contents to temporary storage when starting to render.
