It does not occur in Safari 26.4. It may be new to STP 242, but I'm not certain. Steps to reproduce: 1) Open https://www.espn.com in a new private window in Safari Technology Preview 242 2) Click to play a video in the timeline Expected results: The video advertisement plays all the way through. Actual results: The video advertisement freezes shortly after starting. The ESPN ad counter still advances.
