To achieve seamless local-to-remote automatic clipboard sync, we have to read the system clipboard on document focus. Requiring the user to confirm a native paste prompt each time the tab regains focus results in a frustrating user experience. The Blink/Chrome persistent permissions model (clipboard-read & clipboard-write permissions) handles this scenario elegantly.
