After investigating, in vanilla JS, it seems that if a parent element has a click listener, the date picker will not open: https://codepen.io/rickhanlonii/full/WbvgGvX This breaks usage in React apps since we use event delegation for all events (unfortunately). The worse problem is, that the input is completely inaccessible using voice over on iOS with Safari. I am not able to enter any date.
