Description Damien Sorresso 2006-02-02 17:13:01 PST
There are certain sites where I get NSURLDomainError's in spates. For example, on the forum at bbs.stardestroyer.net, there will just be certain times where a page from that site won't load, and I'll instead get a page with the message:

Safari can’t open the page “http://bbs.stardestroyer.net/viewtopic.php?p=1946423#1946423”. The error was: “bad server response” (NSURLErrorDomain:-1011) Please choose Report Bug to Apple from the Safari menu, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message.

I have to refresh at least 5 times and sometimes as many as 20+ to get the page to show up. This comes and goes, but it's always annoying.

I can in no way reproduce this, if this is still happening for you, please reopen the bug. CCing ap so that when it is reopened he can do his tcp stuff :P

This issue is real but appears to happen inconsistently. There are reports of this on the web

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&q=%22bad+server+response%22+safari&btnG=Search

also concentrated problems here:

This is very likely to be a problem outside of WebKit - maybe in system software, network hardware or the server itself... However, here may be a good place to publicly discuss it.

I don't see this problem myself, so someone who sees it will need to dump and analyze TCP traffic at the moment when it happens. With luck, it will help to localize the problem.

sudo tcpdump -Aepvvvs0 > ~/Desktop/tcpdump.txt
