Click on the link to the huge image above, wait a while, watch WebKit crash. This is using r34318. Loading the image locally does not crash WebKit, but also doesn't show the image, only white space where it should be. Preview shows the image just fine.

This does not cause r48518 on Snow Leopard crash.  However, tt is extremely slow to render (which I suspect is mainly due to the network), and it does lock up Webkit several times over the time it takes for the image to download and render, and it takes up enormous amounts of memory.  The experience with Firefox is not that different though (except it uses ~3 fold less memory).  I think the bug should either be closed, or changed in priority and title, as it is no longer a crasher (at least on my machine)
