Description scroggo 2008-05-28 10:43:56 PDT
If you hit apple+f and type in 'oo' it claims there are 7 matches (usually; sometimes it reports other numbers), but only 3 are visible. If you hit return to go to the next one twice it will reach the last one. If you hit it again it will stay on that one. Eventually it will get back to the first one.

I think the problem here is with text that isn't on screen by default.

Take a site like http://tea.co.uk/ . If you hover over the menus at the top such as "Tea 4 Health" and search for terms in the menu text, you'll see that text is matched in the menu but the user experience is that find in page reports matches that are not obviously on the page.

Repro Safari Version 5.0.4 (6533.20.27). Similar for Chrome.
1. go to http://tea.co.uk/
2. search for "nutritional" (or some text that is unique to the menu drop downs)

Result: Safari reports 1 match but it is not visible by default (see screenshots)

Expect: Either the menu should be popped open so that the match can be visible to the user as they navigate through matches or the match is suppressed when it isn't visible
