build-launcher-app does not support git or git-svn

It just bails out, claiming it can't determine the current revision.

The version I use to build the nightlies does, but as I've hacked it quite a bit to get the "super-fat" 10.4/10.5 binaries working I haven't bothered to contribute the changes back.
