A repeating 1-by-1 pixel alphatransparent PNG background appears much darker than it should. The exact same image, generated the same way, but sized to 2x1 displays correctly. Workaround for web developers: just use a 2x1 pixel image and repeat that.

This issue has been fixed (for some time) in WebKit nightlies.
