Description Patricia Warwick 2007-03-27 06:19:25 PDT
I'm getting this message when I start Webkit after I have downloaded the nightly build. This does not happen with Safari. After I click on Continue everything proceeds normally.

What kinds of plug-ins did you install recently? Is this related to Bug 13203, for example, did you recently install a DiVX plug-in?

I downloaded the DIVX code (including plug-in) last night but I was getting this error before that (for several days.)

The WebKit nightly builds will notify you if they detect any "extensions" installed. These include SIMBL plugins, APE haxies, or input managers. Components such as these can hook into code in Safari or WebKit in an unsupported manner and frequently break when WebKit changes. The warning is present to recommend that you disable such components before filing Webkit bugs to eliminate extensions as a possible cause for incorrect behaviour. Looking at your crash log in bug 13203 shows that the extension WebKit is complaining about is "Smart Crash Reports" installed in "/Users/patricia/Library/InputManagers/Smart Crash Reports/". Removing this extension will prevent the warning from appearing.

I suspect that a recent installation of skEdit must have included this extension. Since it is not causing any problems (AFAIK) I'll leave it installed.
